Cruiser Trails     ... January 22, Cass, AR - Poker Run '05 - Part I
Despite bone-chilling temperatures, there was a record turnout for the Green Country Cruisers 2005 Winter Poker Run which was held in the Ozark National Forest near Cass, Arkansas. What a sight to see over 30 Land Cruisers, Toyota 4x4's, and Jeeps converge on the beautiful area of Northwest Arkansas!!

Part II
. At the trail head of Mountain Creek Trail on top of Fly Gap Pass, lots of people braved the frigid wind to take pics of the nearly 30 Cruisers and 4x4's that gathered for the Poker Run. We paused here to draw the first of 5 cards for the Poker Run.

Gary Don is about half-way down the line and you can still see the Cruisers stringing along the trail coming down the mountain. What a turnout!
.
.
Drawing the second card of the Poker Hand, it is a LOT less windy on the south side of the mountain there, but it is still chilly outside despite the sunshine. Dave Rising and Jason Jewett are seen here dealing the cards and keeping track of the Poker Hands for everyone-- special thanks goes out to both of them!
One of the many waterfall seen along Mountain Creek Trail. If it were 60 or 70 degrees warmer, that swimming hole would have been full of people!

Far Right - Can you spot the 5 Land Cruisers in the picture?
.
.
Randy Underwood's FJ40 and Dave Steelman's FJ55 get a drink of water while everyone paused for lunch and a few adventurous people and their rigs headed up a more "hardcore" trail to test their skills.
Not sure how this guy made it down the tight areas of the trail, but he sure tore up all mud holes along the way!! By the way, that's a j%#p.

Far Right - I think that says it all!
.
. Another card for everyone's Poker Hand is drawn at lunch and the people pack in to see if they can draw another card to get them closer to the top choice of prizes.

Far Left - Robert Waters enjoying another creek crossing along Mountain Creek Trail...
